Send me a sailor (12.15.1997) A poem for my lovely wife
Amidst of calm blue ocean I sailed,
From my homeland till south of somewhere,
Without the guide of compass or scale,
Little determination, a piece of prayer.
Though I know troubles coming soon,
Noble "will"fulfills the mighty task I bind,
Tomorrow maybe or on a quarter of moon,
Failure and grief, last words on my mind.
Riding not in a huge boat or a great ship,
But in a 'banca' made up of poor log,
One strike of a wind make sink a deep,
Maybe I'll drown, be exhausted or dragged.
Thunderstorm mocked at me, lightning hit me out,
My 'banca' destroyed as my soul scared,
Heavy rain blessed me with bitter laugh,
Helpless heart griefs, downed and frailed.
I'm really weary, yet I have a goal,
In this place of misfortune and wrath,
I sailed to find a good fate for my soul,
Ignoring the difficulties, seeking the path.
......................................................................
Amidst of wild dark ocean I sailed,
Scathed, weeping, really in distress,
My soul mourned as my heart failed,
Mountain sung solemnly, depressed.
The circumstances are all against my fate,
At that time, I lifted my head above the sky,
My hope flickered with unceasing faith,
Behind the dark clouds, my Master waiting by.
"Oh Lord, as my mind cursed by sorrow,
Failure and grief already ate my guts and will,
The last thread is a thing of merely narrow,
So send me a sailor, so the goal may fulfill."
My Master answered my prayer, sent me a sailor,
My sailor smiled, gives a million power,
Discretion always a better part of valor,
She is a lady, Yes, Indeed, She's a flower.
As my sailor guides me, lifted me up,
As she holds my heart, my hands off from the dark,
As she gives light to the darkest night of my life,
She's my sailor, the one who will hit the mark.
Rain is still here, but I don't really care,
Only a tiny punch, a little stone on my way,
For my sailor gives me strength and power,
Even the stormy weather is a wonderful day.
.......................................................................
Amidst of calm blue ocean I sailed,
Back to the start, a beautiful journey,
Thank you my Master, God must be hailed,
The mountains rejoice, sung gleefully.
Besides me is my sailor, an answer to my prayer,
Back to my homeland, success waits us there.
From my homeland till south of somewhere,
Without the guide of compass or scale,
Little determination, a piece of prayer.
