Fly Smoke

Fly Smoke

They went behind the garage for a fly smoke
From end to end
The weightless fog enfolded the exquisite air
They were too high on the happy side
It was either crime, the basketball, music or love
They chose love over all
A spoon for their hungry souls.

And above them is this quiet man
Staring at them like a sightless one in a canopy
Anguished as he recalled his younger days
A lad, wild and free, he was too high then on the happy side
It was either crime, the basketball, music or love
He chose love over all
But look what happened to his soul:
-------------------------------
His heart beats speed up
Like adrenaline flows
And mixed with his blood
The smoke fades away
As fog at a snail’s pace disappeared
A devil’s face grinned at him
Like a thousand lights in a night beam.

He saw the young gal in the street
Alone, a helpless fresh meat
He chose love over all
Love she never asked or wished for
She yelled for help, she cried and cried
He saw her face like a devil’s face yelling
Then the blood flowed on the street.

The darkest night silenced…

The sirens screamed...

Living for forty years behind the jail…

The amnesty came for second chance…

Second life… Forever sorrow…

A young gal screaming for help
Nightmare day by day
A deranged mind and soul
She cried and cried
He saw her face like a devil’s face yelling
Then he got his blade for a final blow
Then the blood flowed on the street.

He saw them again behind the garage for a fly smoke
From end to end
The weightless fog enfolded the exquisite air
They were too high on the happy side
It was either crime, the basketball, music or love
And they chose love over all
A spoon for their hungry souls.

And the nightmare continues
For a deranged man for a fly smoke
Day and night, night and day…
